The Capital Region golf community has a chance to tee it up for a great cause. NYLEAP (New York Law Enforcement Assistance Program) is hosting their annual charity golf tournament at Saratoga Lake Golf Course, and all proceeds go directly to mental health and wellness services for first responders and their families -- law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, corrections officers, dispatchers, and military members. Format: 4-person scramble Registration: $150/golfer | $600/foursome Includes lunch at the turn and a buffet dinner reception with cocktail hour Add-ons: Golfer's Game Package ($25) -- mulligans + skill contests: closest to the pin on each par 3, men's and women's longest drive 50/50 Club ($10) -- must be present to win Can't play? Dinner-only tickets are available for $50, and donations are fully tax-deductible. NYLEAP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides free peer-based mental health support to first responders. In 2022 alone, law enforcement suicides outnumbered line-of-duty deaths by nearly three to one. Every dollar raised goes directly to changing that statistic.
