Golf Near Glens Falls, NY

By  ·   · 5 min read

The best courses in the Glens Falls–Lake George–Adirondack corridor — a golfer's guide to the northern 518.

The stretch from Glens Falls north through Lake George and into Warren County is some of the most scenic golf in New York. It's 45 minutes north of Albany on I-87, which makes it a realistic day trip or an easy add-on to a Lake George weekend. Here's where to play.

Queensbury Country Club

The best course in the immediate Glens Falls area. Tight, tree-lined, and a layout that punishes the wild tee shot more than it rewards the long one. It's a country club — call ahead about public access before you show up. They do allow outside play but it's not a walk-up situation.

The Sagamore Golf Club — Bolton Landing

On the western shore of Lake George, this is one of the most scenic golf settings in New York State and the views are exactly what you'd expect. So is the price — plan for $150–200, more in peak season. Worth it once. If you're bringing guests who want the full Lake George experience and don't mind the rate, this is the round to book.

Lake George Golf Club — Lake George Village

Municipal course right in the village. Real views of the lake, a fraction of the Sagamore's rate. It's a shorter layout and gets busy in July and August, but if you want lake views without the resort price tag this is your answer.

Cronin's Golf Resort — Warrensburg

About 15 minutes north of Glens Falls. Cronin's has been a Warren County staple for decades — resort course, genuine Adirondack setting, affordable rates. The kind of place you can show up on a Tuesday without a tee time and get out. Good for families, good for a relaxed round.

When to Go

Late June through September. Courses at this elevation open a little later and close a little earlier than Albany-area courses. Fall color up here in late September is worth the drive on its own — golf is just a bonus.
